Madeline’s Sweet Spa: Activities, Favors and Shopping Resources

The party activities doubled as favors for the guests.  This year we kept the party very small with 6 girls.  It allowed me to really personalize the party and they went home with a ton of Sweet Spa Goodies.  When the girls arrived they found a white spa robe and white slippers ready to personalize.  I sewed hot pink buttons to both the robe and slippers for the girls to then choose from several different fabric flower shapes to “button” on and create their own flower accessory.  It was a really simple and easy craft to do and the girls loved creating their own spa outfit.  Next they alternated between Chocolate Facials and getting a Manicure with Kid-Friendly Piggy Paint.  After all of their pampering they relaxed in the “Relaxation Lounge” on hot pink towels and DIY neck roll pillows.  After the girls had their Beauty Brunch they started their final activity of filling their own personalized jars of “Whipped Cream Bubbles” that I made and put into pre-filled into piping bags.  They got such a kick out of making their own special foaming bath cream.  When it was time to leave they got to fill up a bag full of homemade lip balm, bubble bath, their whipped cream bubble jars, a beautiful cookie from JP Creatibles and their choice of bath puff.  I tied them off with a name tag and thank you tag and they got to take home their robe and slippers.

The Birthday Girl giggling with her friends…

I cannot tell you how amazing these cookies were in person!!!!

Madeline’s Sweet Spa Party

I am so excited to finally share my Madeline’s Sweet Spa Party in celebration of her 6th Birthday!!

The birthday girl went back and forth over what kind of party to have this year and ultimately decided on a Spa Party.  Since she has such a sweet tooth it evolved into a “Sweet Spa”!  She helped me make all of the spa products we had and picked out all of the yummy scents like Cotton Candy, Bubble Gum, Grape Soda, Chocolate Cake, Cake Batter and Watermelon.  Her favorite color is Hot Pink and with Turquoise as a close second, those paired with Crisp White and Pale Gray gave her Sweet Spa a sweet and clean look.

Sweet Spa Invitation

I had so much fun designing the invitations and coordinating party details. The Sweet Spa Gift Certificates are doubled sided and printed on a beautiful white heavy shimmer card stock and a pretty pink shimmer envelope with coordinating address labels wraps.  All of the food had coordinating food cards and jar labels.  Throughout the party I had various party signs that were framed for the Manicures, Chocolate Facials and the Relaxation Lounge.  There were also stickers & favor tags designed for the crafts and favors.  (All of the items will be available in my Etsy Shoppe in both Custom Printed and Printable Versions!)

To keep with the clean feel of a spa the tables had white linens, a pale grey polka dot table runner and custom cardstock placemats .  Each place setting had a Custom Wrapped Water Bottles and grey striped paper straws with each guests name on it and a sweet little jeweled mirror.  The centerpieces were kept simple with clear glass vases filled with bath puffs!!

Since both the treats and the favors all centered around Sweets, I decided to combine them together into one table.  The amazing Bubble Bath cookies were done by Jen of JP Creatibles.  The homemade cake balls were placed in a sweet little hot pink bath tub and the cake was from Whole Foods (This ended up having to be a last minute replacement!!).  I made the little pink meringues and they ended up tasting like Cotton Candy!!  The rest of the table was part of their favors and activity.  The apothecary jars were filled with white sugar and held the homemade lip balm.  The bubble bath and the “whipped cream bubbles” jars were set up on the Bubble Bar ready for the girls to fill up with their choice yummy scents.

Since we had the party in the morning we went with a “Beauty Brunch” featuring a Cereal Bar, bagels, fruit salad, the Birthday Girl’s favorite petite vanilla scones from Starbucks and yummy Strawberry Soup Smoothies!!

Next up is the Activities, Favors and Shopping Resources!

Kate McRae’s Sweet 7th Birthday…

I had the privilege to be a small part of the beautiful celebration Kim from The TomKat Studio planned for sweet Kate McRae. My heart and prayers are with Kate and her family as they navigate this heartbreaking path. You can read about Kate’s story on and at

Take a look at the wonderful party celebrating Kate’s 7th Birthday that Kim of  The TomKat Studio designed for her

I sent over the Pinwheels which Kim used for the cake and Dessert Tables and the Old Fashioned Party Crackers for favors.

Kim did an amazing job on her party and I was truly blessed to be a small part of it.  Please continue to keep sweet Kate and the McRae Family in your thoughts and prayers.

Favor Find….

I know a bunch of my wonderful clients have Farm Chic parties in the works…I saw these beauties at Target today in the Valentine Section and they could not match the red, pink and aqua colors from the party more perfectly…At $1.99 a piece they would make great favors!!!

Farm Chic Fabrics…

I get a lot of questions about the fabrics I used for Ava’s party…

The 4 Below were all from Tanya Whelan’s Darla Line

I couldn’t find them locally but as always Etsy came to the rescue!!

sewgoodfabrics who is sadly closing her fabric shop…

The solid aqua and the pink gingham, were from Walmart of all places…the one closest to me is one of the last few Walmarts to have a big fabric department!  The Aqua Gingham came from Joann’s Fabric

So while I am photographing my new collections and working on all my custom parties…I’ll be putting together a quick tutorial for the rosette hair clips and the No-Sew Fabric Banner…stay tuned!!!!

Farm Party Findings…

I have been meaning to write a more detailed post about all of my Farm Party Findings and with all of the ones I am working on for clients I thought I better get to it!!

Farm Chic Birthday Party

This was originally a frame I had in Ava’s room and I thought it would work well for the party…I got it at Home Goods and just gave it a couple of coats of Krylon Blue Ocean Breeze I got at Michaels

I also used it to paint her big letter A…which of course I got at Home Goods (I also got the Beverage Dispenser there too!)

Farm Party, Red Wagon, DIY Glassine Bag and Red, Pink & Aqua Twine

Pink Gingham Tablecloth, Hot Dog Buffet, Pink Lemonade and Sweet Tea in Beverage Canisters, Popcorn and PB&J in Galvanized and Fabric Lined Buckets, Custom Bottle Water Labels

The 2 Galvanized Tins that held the water and the PB&J’s were actually from Lowes Home Improvement in the Paint Isle!!!

Farm Party, Red Wagon, DIY Glassine Bag and Red, Pink & Aqua Twine Balloons

The 2 Red Wagons I found at my local Drug Store!!…They were in the seasonal isle back in August, about a month before the party, so I snagged them up fast…I have since seen the small one it at Michaels when they had their fall decorations out.  They were originally a dirty orange color but a quick can of Krylon Red Spray Paint fixed them right up!!

I used Mason Jars with handles from Hobby Lobby…gosh I love that store…too bad the nearest one is an hour away!!  They go on sale alot so watch for them to be 50% off!!

Speaking of Hobby Lobby, that is where I found these wooden crates I used under the cupcake stand and for the hot dog rolls…They were given a few coats of Kryon Satin Ballet Slipper

Pink Gingham Tablecloth, Hot Dog Buffet, Pink Lemonade and Sweet Tea in Beverage Canisters, Popcorn and PB&J in Galvanized and Fabric Lined Buckets, Custom Bottle Water Labels

The Cupcake Stand I found at The Christmas Tree Shop and the 2 Stands holding the Caramel Apples I made were from Home Goods…They were already pink and the Krylon Satin Ballet Slipper Spray Paint I used for the crates were a perfect match!!

The giant Mason Jar was from Target!!

Aqua Basket Liner, Apple Basket Bucket, DIY Red Tanya Whelan Darla in Rosie Flower Rosette Hairclip Button

The Favor Baskets came from Michaels..and they also go on sale often!!  They were bigger than I had originally planned…The ones I wanted were the same baskets from Hobby Lobby but much smaller…I made 3 trips out there and they never had enough for everyone (I needed 24!!)…So I found these at Michaels and they worked out well…I gave one to each family, almost everyone was a brother and/or sister pair so the basket had to hold 2 Caramel Apples, 2 Old Fashioned Party Crackers, 2 Rock Candy Swizzle Sticks, 2 Farm Stickers and a Farm Board Book for the little ones…Each Basket was lined with fabric (which I’ll list in the next post:) that I cut up with a scalloped rotary cutter and I made the Fabric Rosettes, which were also Hair Clips!! (Quick Tutorial Coming!!!)

Custom Old Fashioned Party Crackers Favor with Farm Shaped Silly Bands Bandz Tied with Aqua Ribbon

The Old Fashioned Party Crackers were made by me and I will have them in my Esty Shop (if you need them now, just convo  or email me!!)

Along with all of the other paper details you see like the cupcake wrappers

and Water Bottle Wrappers & Stickers…I’ll be putting up a list of all of the Custom Favor Packaging I can offer in a bit…

Aqua Red and Pink Striped Custom Tractor Party Tags, Aqua Lunch Bags, Custom Child Water Bottle Label

The Lunch Bags were from Party City…They originally had handles, but I just cut them off!

Next up is the Fabrics….

{Client Flutter} All Pigs Are Beautiful…

I had the pleasure of working with Jenny to come up with a pig inspired baby shower for her sister-in-law.  She wanted to incorporate the colors white, pale blue and navy with a touch of gingham and a silhouette of a pig.  The whole shower had a sweet country fair feel to it!  The guests were asked to bring a book to the shower so she sent along the custom bookplates I had designed along with the invitation to personalize her nephew’s new library.

I LOVE the onsie bunting she made, so cute!!!!!

Party Crackers filled with farm animal stamps for the little ones…

Look at the toppers turned into fair prize ribbons!!

Jenny sent the pig silhouette I designed to Two Sugar Babies and had these adorable cupcake toppers made!!

And she had Cake Pops from Terri’s Treasures on the dessert table

See the rest of the beautiful shower on Jenny’s blog!!
